Dillington Estate Wedding — Somerset
The Dillington Estate near Ilminster in Somerset is a historic parkland estate offering two contrasting wedding settings: the romantic, centuries-old Dillington House with its Orangery and gardens, and the rustic stone-and-thatch Cider Barn hidden up a track through the woods.
What I love about Dillington is the choice of moods — the refined elegance of the house and Orangery, or the wild, secluded charm of the Cider Barn surrounded by fields and woodland. Both feel wonderfully private, and that seclusion lets a wedding feel completely its own.
Photographing weddings across the Dillington Estate
At the House, the Orangery and its fountain patio give me light-filled, elegant frames, with sweeping lawns and woodland edges for portraits. The grandeur of the parkland setting suits couples who want a classic, romantic feel.
The Cider Barn is the opposite in the best way — old stone, thatch and rolling views, lost among the estate’s fields and trees. It’s a dream for golden-hour portraits and a more rustic, intimate story, and I tailor my approach to whichever corner of the estate a couple chooses.
