Sheppy’s Cider Farm Wedding — Somerset
Sheppy’s Cider Farm is a long-established working cider farm near Bradford-on-Tone, between Taunton and Wellington in Somerset, where six generations have made cider on the same land. As a wedding venue it offers characterful spaces including the Stable Room, an open courtyard and the atmospheric House of Cider with its vintage oak vats.
There’s real character in every direction here, and I love leaning into the farm’s heritage — the orchards, the old timber, the giant cider vats all make distinctive frames. It’s a venue that gives a wedding a genuine sense of place, rooted in Somerset’s cider country.
Photographing weddings at Sheppy’s Cider Farm
The courtyard and Stable Room give me a relaxed, rustic backdrop for the celebrations, while the orchards just beyond are perfect for couple portraits — rows of apple trees, dappled light and that easy countryside feel. In blossom or in fruit, the trees photograph beautifully.
Inside the House of Cider, the vintage oak vats create an intimate, characterful setting that nothing else can replicate, and I lean into that for moodier, storytelling images. The mix of working farm, orchard and heritage spaces means I’m never short of variety across the day.
